Southern California Mapua Alumni (SCMA) is a non-profit charitable tax-exempt organization, per IRS Code Section 501(c)(3), of Southern California residents who are alumni of the Mapua Institute of Technology (now Mapua University) in Manila. 

 

Our mission is two-fold:

 

- Provide educational assistance by granting scholarships to deserving but underprivileged students of Mapua University and other students studying in Southern California schools.

 

- Provide career advancement assistance with free California Engineering Registration review classes, mentoring, networking and job placement support to deserving but disadvantaged individuals in the engineering and technical fields.

 

We carry out our mission in remembrance of our student years in Mapua and with the spirit of friendship and camaraderie among alumni, family, members, volunteers, sponsors and friends. With our common bond as Mapuans, we are ever thankful for this opportunity to give back to the community.

SCMA is a chartered Scholarship Partner of Mapua University (formerly Mapua Institute of Technology). We are a chapter of the National Association of Mapua Alumni (NAMA), and we participate in The Outstanding Mapuan (TOM) award program. We are also active in the international biennial MapuaWorld convention, having hosted the event in 2002.
