The Southern California Mapua Alumni Scholarship Program is one of the most important programs that receive funding from the various fund-raising events at SCMA.  The annual dinner-dance and the golf tournament are major sources of funding for the Program. 

 

The Scholarship Program has both a small local Southern California-based and a larger and older Philippine-based component. 

 

The local component provides a one-time monetary award to a student graduating from a Southern California high school, or to an active SCMA member pursuing graduate studies. 

 

The Philippine-based component provides tuition assistance for students enrolled in our old alma Mater, Mapua Institute of Technology (now Mapua University). Mapua applicants are usually 3rd and 4th year engineering students and nominated by the school to SCMA.

 

To date, there have been four recipients of the Local award and 38 recipients of the Philippine-based award.
